EDF Thrust-Vectoring Rocket

Thrust-vector control you can test indoors, repeatedly

IN PROGRESSGNCAerospaceControlsTest hardware

A thrust-vector control platform that uses an electric ducted fan in place of a motor. The point is iteration: a solid motor gives you one test and a few seconds of data, while a fan gives you the same control problem on a bench, as many times as you want, with the battery as the only consumable.

The fan is mounted in a gimbal so its efflux can be steered, and the control law that decides where to steer it was derived on a whiteboard before any of it was built.
